Vitamin C IV Therapy
The Power of Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps boost the immune system, increases resistance to infection, and helps protect a wide range of diseases. It also helps prevent oxidative stress and works with enzymes to play a key role in making collagen as well as neutralizing free radicals.
What Does Vitamin C IV Therapy Treat?
Vitamin C IV Therapy has been used in the treatment of the following Medical Conditions:
- Adjunctive Immune Support for Cancer Patients (high dose Vitamin C**)
- Chronic Fatigue
- Frequent Illness
- Immune System Dysfunction
**High Dose Vitamin C Therapy and Cancer treatment:
The major concept behind High Dose Vitamin C Intravenous Therapy and cancer is that it is used to induce the production of hydrogen peroxide in the extracellular space, thus potentially causing damage to cancer cells (1). Orally administered vitamin C is unable to create a plasma level high enough to create any substantial peroxide formation (2,3). Second, it has been demonstrated that High Dose Vitamin C Intravenous Therapy properly dosed can create the type of peroxide surge in the extracellular space required to potentially damage cancer cells (3). Finally it has been shown that some cancer cells have decreased ability to defend against the peroxide, where normal human cells can reduce the peroxide to water (2) – making High Dose Vitamin C Intravenous Therapy a potential anti-cancer therapy.
