Micro-Needling
The Microneedling Facial rejuvenates your skin while reducing the appearance of wrinkles, scars, hyperpigmentation and other facial blemishes.
The Microneedling Facial introduces growth factors directly to the dermis using a technique called “micro-needling”, which tightens, smooths, and rejuvenates your skin while reducing the appearance of scars and other facial blemishes. Microneedling can be used with three natural substances, HA (hyaluronic acid) for moderate improvements, PRP for great improvements, and Amnion Allograft for the most dramatic results.
Microneedling Q&A
What is Microneedling?
Microneedling with PRP is a natural, non-invasive skin therapy that can be performed quickly in our office. We first extract your Platelet Rich Plasma using a sample of your own blood and our special centrifuging process. Your provider will apply a numbing cream, and then she uses a device with tiny needles moving at an extremely fast rate to create controlled micro-injuries to stimulate elastin and collagen growth. She applies a thin coating of your own Platelet Rich Plasma with each pass of the micro-needles to super-charge this healing process.
What Does Microneedling Do?
Microneedling is used for a variety of beauty and anti-aging enhancements for wrinkle reduction, texture and tone improvement, and softer, younger looking skin. PRP Microneedling can greatly improve acne scarring, traumatic scars, sun damage, hyper-pigmentation, Rosacea and age spots among other skin blemishing. It is used to great affect to smooth wrinkles, puffy eyes and other signs of the natural aging process. Simply put, it can literally take years of aging and skin damage away from your face.
How Does PRP Help with Beauty and Anti-Aging?

The new collagen helps to tighten skin, fill in wrinkles and stretch marks, smooth scars and shrink pores. It has the ability to reduce the appearance of hyper-pigmentation (age spots) and other blemishes on the face or skin.

How Long Does It Take?
The actual procedure itself is done in our office at Sunshine Health Care Center and takes approximately 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the size and condition of the area being treated. For the first three days after the procedure your skin will be pink and will begin to scab. You might notice your skin begin to peel, similar to a sunburn — do not scratch or pick at scabs during this period.
You should avoid wearing makeup and stay out of the sun during this period. Gently wash your face with a mild soap twice a day, and apply a quality moisturizer. You might consider scheduling the procedure at a time when you can stay home and rest for the first couple of days. After that, you can wear light makeup and you should always wear a good sunscreen. You will begin to see improvements gradually after the first week with full healing at around the 5-6 week mark.
How Many Procedures Does It Take?

Is Microneedling Safe?
We use the SkinPen® by Bellus Medical, the first and only FDA approved microneedling device. In addition, our practitioners understand the importance of a sterile environment and making sure that our equipment is always thoroughly sterilized and every precaution is taken to make sure that you will never be exposed to a pathogen. This is why it is so important to visit a Medical Office for this procedure rather than a spa or other non-medical establishment.
